7 Fun DIY Projects To Make At Home

1. Mason Jar Craft

Mason jars are affordable, durable, and very handy! You can create many things from mason jars such as:
a) Soap dispensers
b) Candles
c) Jar art
d) Piggy Bank and much more!

Mason jars are easily available household items and there is so much you can do with them. Let’s talk about how you can create a mason jar art.

Supplies you need:
a) Clear mason jar
b) Paint
c) Paint brushes
d) Pencil
e) Black marker (optional)

First, select a workplace and cover it with newspaper so that it will be easy to clean up. Next, paint the mason jar completely white.

You may require more than one coating, so remember to be patient. Once, you have painted the jar white, outline a design of your choice. I recommend taking inspiration from Pinterest.

After this, paint your mason jar with different colours to make it pop! Additionally, You can outline your drawing with a black marker to make it look neat.

Note– You must coat your mason jar with white paint as it will help you see your outline.

Let’s discuss how to make keychains, magnets, and pencil holders!

Supplies you need to make a keychain:
a) Keychain holder
b) Modelling clay
c) Paint
d) Paintbrush

Before you start making your keychain, ensure you visualise the kind of keychain you want, you may also take inspiration online. Next, mould the clay into a desired shape, and paint it. Next, make a small hole enough to pass through the keychain, and let it dry. Further, insert the keychain through the clay, and voila, your modelling clay keychain is ready!

Supplies you need to make a magnet:
a) Small magnets
b) Modelling clay
c) Paint
d) Paintbrushes

Take some modelling clay and create a shape of your choice. Next, take a small magnet and lightly press it on the backside. Once it is done, paint your clay, and your magnet is ready!

Note: Do not press the magnet too deep as it will not attract to any surface. Press it in a way that you can still see the surface of the magnet at the back. Moreover, make sure that you place the magnet before the clay hardens up.

Supplies you need to make a pencil stand:

Creating a pencil stand out of modelling clay is one of the easy crafts you can do at home. For this, you need to mould your clay in the shape of a pencil stand. Tear the newspapers into long strips and dip them into the mache paste. After this, take the strips and stick them onto the balloon (ensure you don’t cover the balloon completely and keep an opening wide enough to add the lights). Once, it is covered properly, keep it out in the sun to dry for a few hours. Once, the mache has hardened, you can paint it in any colour of your choice.

Now, with the help of scissors or any sharp object pop the balloon, and lastly, add in the fairy lights!
